David A Kinzer
I am a licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee. I have a Master of Counseling from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from the same University. I have worked with clients with depression, addiction issues, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, social phobias, relationship issues, phase of life issues, abandonment issues, and more.
In my 50+ years I have personally experienced a lot of things that my clients share with me. I am able to empathize or and the very least identify with my client`s needs.
My approach is Person/Client Centered; Person-centered therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. The therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without moving the conversation in another direction. The therapist is there to encourage and support the client and to guide the therapeutic process without interrupting or interfering with the client’s journey of self-discovery. I feel it is very courageous to take that step into counseling and I am here to help you feel better about yourself. My goal is to assist you in being happy and healthy.
